A century-long family passion
Casa Serra’s story dates back to the early 1900s, when Carlo Felice Cerrato settled on Collina Serra in Montegrosso Cinaglio and began raising the first Piedmontese cattle. Over the decades, the family has cared for and transformed this place: in the 1950s, with the drive towards winemaking led by his son Secondo, and again in the 1990s, when the business expanded under the guidance of his grandson Carlo and his wife Onorina.
The real turning point came in 2017, when Carlo and his nephew Vittorio embarked on a new, sustainable path: allowing the land to return to woodland and transforming the vineyards into an extensive pasture for free-range cattle, fed on grass and hay. Following the launch of e-commerce in 2020, which made our meat available throughout Italy, Casa Serra Bistrot officially opened in 2021: a place where tradition and hospitality come together to create memorable experiences.

Our Bistrot was born from the desire to create a retreat where guests can rediscover a sense of well-being and reconnect with nature. Our philosophy is built around three pillars: nature, seasonality and sustainability.
We strongly believe in protecting the ecosystem that surrounds us. From the architecture of the building, where traditional materials meet contemporary design, to every choice we make in our daily operations, we strive to preserve the local landscape and pass it on intact to future generations, while fostering an inclusive relationship with the local community.

In the heart of the Asti hills
We are located in Montegrosso Cinaglio, nestled within the Valleandona, Valle Grande and Val Botto Paleontological Nature Reserve. At the gateway to Monferrato, Langhe and Roero, UNESCO World Heritage territories, Casa Serra enjoys a privileged setting surrounded by the Asti hills. A unique landscape of tranquillity, biodiversity and panoramic views provides the perfect backdrop for lunches, dinners, relaxing moments and private or corporate events.
From our estate to your table
La qualità di ciò che portiamo in tavola parte dalle nostre colline. The quality of what we serve begins in our own hills. Our supply chain is built on an ethical and transparent approach: our careful selection ensures meat of outstanding nutritional quality, gently dry-aged and produced with the utmost respect for animal welfare.
Alongside this, we use produce from our own vegetable garden and work with a carefully selected network of local farms that share our values.
From pasture to plate, ours is a short and controlled supply chain that guarantees authenticity, quality and the genuine flavours of our land.
